S., in Boston which he held for seven years. In 1860 he was named as cashier of the custom house of Boston. Beard’s life was cut short by ill health, and he died at age 48. 1856 Certificate of Deposit $1 “ASSISTANT TREASURER OF THE UNITED STATES” Boston, MA.
